Update

Few people expressed interest in sleeping at an elementary school at Exchange 18. Exchange 18 is about 100 miles into the race, so mid point of the race.

They have two options for sleeping. The school is providing this stuff as a way to fundraise money.

1. $15 all you can eat spaghetti, bread sticks, trail mix, fruit, drinks, oatmeal, indoor sleeping and washing(no showers, just restrooms)
2. $10 all you can eat spaghetti, drinks, indoor sleeping and washing

Van 1 (Tyler, Becky, Kelly, Sam, Dani, Chad) will be finishing their segment at exchange 18, which means that Van 2(Sharon, Spencer, Karen, Camille, Ilu and Eevi) will go active.

Just to clarify how it works with two vans. Van 1 will start at the start line and drive through the course while dropping and picking up their runners. During this time, van 2 is "inactive" and they are hanging out, stretching, eating or whatever, until runner six finishes at exchange 6 and Van 2 will go active while Van 1 will get a chance to take a breather.

So while your van is "active", you basically are driving along the course, getting ready to run or recovering from your run. When your van is "inactive", you can be sleeping, eating, showering etc.

I hope that makes sense. I know there was some confusion about the need for two vans when we met for our first team meeting. Let me know if you have questions!

We still need another van. I do not know anyone with a big van(like Becky's dad has). We could use my mother-in-law's Santa Fe; however, people might be little claustrophobic in there after 24+ hours since it seats just 7 people. Another option is renting. However, this will be more expensive and I would hate to add any more costs to this race since it is already an expensive one.
